Welcome to your new website
We have trained young people with LDs to be Peer Advocates at a residential home for adults with PMLD. The Peer Advocates are now able to:
Give their own views on the environment and culture at the home
Speak up for people with PMLD
Identify good and bad practice
Share interests and experiences
Feel they were shaping and improving services
The work is continuing with Peer Advocates working with us to create a Code of Practice for Peer Advocacy, and gain the skills to become trainers of other Peer Advocates.
Watch this space for more information on Peer Advocacy training available in the future.
